2018 CIF Regional Finals press coverage

Thank you to the Press for recognizing my efforts in 3-2 win against Flintridge Prep in the 2018 CIF Southern California Regional Finals. I played the first half of the Final in the pouring rain and shutout the Rebels to keep my personal clean sheet for all 5 of the CIF games that I played. Going into halftime with a 1-0 lead I knew that I did my job to frustrate our opponents by taking away several goals at the top of the box. The Rebels were proficient at slotting the ball behind our defensive line, but I anticipated every one of their plays by coming off my line at the precise time. I can see why the Rebels scored 160+ goals this season, but none on me. Their strength matched mine and I was able to keep our team in the game.

Press coverage…

The Pasadena Star-News published a great photo and caption about our 3-2 win over Flintridge Prep in the CIF State Finals.

Seemingly getting used to the field as much as possible, the Rebels began to find their game, but Pilots goalie Grace Kotnik made five saves and also snuffed out two golden opportunities in which Rebels junior forward Helen Schaefer played balls up to senior forward Julia Gonzalez, who had a step on her defenders but was beaten to the ball by the goalie.

The MaxPreps photographer captured the action and I’m in almost 10% of the game photos and I only played the first half of the game.

2016 Manchester City FC Americas Cup (Semifinalist)

2016 Manchester City FC Americas Cup

We advanced to the Semis this past weekend in the 2016 Manchester City FC Americas Cup. That was a impressive result since it was the first tournament that our new team played together. Our most noteworthy game was a 1-1 tie against San Diego Surf ECNL Academy 2001. We played excellent as a team and both of our keepers really got a great workout that game. Unfortunately we lost in the Semis 0-1 to LA Galaxy San Diego Elite, who finally end up winning the tournament. Click here for game results.

2016 Cal South National Cup (Finalists)

We advanced all the way to the Finals of the 2016 National Cup. Unfortunately we ended our run with a disappointing loss in penalty kicks in the finals. I am extremely proud of this accomplishment because I was able to shutout the entire tournament (308 minutes with no goals against). We played some great teams along the way like Oceanside Breakers.

2015 Blues Cup (Finalists)

We had a great run this past weekend at the 2015 Blues Cup at the SoCal Sports Complex in Oceanside. We finished the tournament with a tough loss against So Cal Blues ECNL U15. By the time Monday came when we played the finals our team was absolutely exhausted. We had a very close semifinal game against Legends FC Legends South G00 and they play an extremely direct and physical game. We tied the game in regulation which led to overtime and then finally PKs. My coach selected me to defend the PKs and I was able to save one shot after guessing the right side twice. In the end my save made the difference and we advanced to the finals.
